Development of sports and athletes –

The primary objective of this scheme is to offer financial support and encouragement to the sports stars in the state. This money will push them towards better performance in the future.

For senior level athletes –

All the senior level athletes, who have acquired medals in any national event, will be able to apply and attain the monetary incentive from the Andhra Pradesh Sports Ministry.

For junior and sub-junior level athletes –

The scheme also highlights that financial rewards will be handed out to those athletes who fall in the junior and sub-junior categories.

Financial assistance –

The state government has decided that all the successful national level sport medalists will be offered a monetary incentive from the state government. It will encourage them to do better in the future.

Eligibility to apply for the benefits

Residents of Andhra Pradesh –

It is pertinent that the sport person must be a legal and permanent resident of this state. Otherwise, he/she will not be eligible for the incentive scheme.

Registered sports athlete –

The athlete must be registered with the sports association in the state as per his/her age and chosen sporting event.

National event participant –

The applicant must have participated in any national gaming event that was organized by the central or any state governments.

Medal winners only –

Only those sports persons will be able to apply for the incentive amounts, who have won a medal for their excellent performance in the competition.

Documents necessary for application

Residential proof –

As only permanent and legal residents of Andhra Pradesh can apply for this incentive, it is pertinent that the candidates showcase their residential proof documents.

Age proof –

The age proof documents of the applicant must also be submitted during application.

Certificate from sports association –

The candidate must furnish a copy of the registration certificate that he/she has received from the respective sports association.

Participation certificate –

It is important that the applicant submits a copy of the participation document that he/she filled up during partaking in the sport event.

Winner certificate –

The interested applicant must submit a copy of the winner certificate. Here, the position of the participant will be mentioned that highlights which medal he/she won.

How to get registration form and apply for the benefits?

It is a new scheme. It has just been passed by the Andhra Pradesh state cabinet. Thus, the CM has not yet mentioned any other details of this incentive scheme. The state government will require some time before it is ready to officially roll out this project. So, nothing has been mentioned about the registration dates and procedure.
